A level tuition

A levels are broken down into two separate examinations:

1. End of year 12: AS levels

AS level + A2 level = A level

2. End of year 13: A2 levels

Fleet Tutors' A level tutors can offer valuable support with tailored KS5 tuition. Home tutoring at this level can be very valuable as students can feel under a lot of pressure to achieve high grades. Our A level tutors offer support and guidance for every subject available at this level. There are roughly 80 AS and A2 level subjects available following the curriculum. Our KS5 tuition covers the full range of A levels from the more traditional subjects carried on from Key Stage 4 to the 'applied A levels' such as business or tourism.

What qualifications do our A level tutors have?

Fleet Tutors believe that KS5 tuition can only be successful if our A level tutors have the relevant qualifications and experience. All of our A level tutors must hold a degree in the subject they tutor at 2.1 or above or a teaching qualification recognised by the General Teaching Council. At this level all of our private tutors hold a degree or teaching qualification specialising in one or two individual subjects.

What experience do our A level tutors have?

All of Fleet Tutors' A level tutors are required to have relevant teaching or KS5 tuition experience. Many of our A level tutors are qualified teachers; others are experienced tutors with high class degrees. All must have up to date knowledge of the curriculum and the A levels.

How do you know your children will be safe with our A level tutors?

All of our private tutors hold Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Disclosures (CRBs), or Enhanced Disclosure Scotland's which we check very closely. The CRB are an executive agency of the Home Office which vets applications for people who want to work with children and vulnerable people. We interview and obtain 2 references for every private tutor; one work reference and one character reference. Many of the work referees have worked with the tutor in a teaching environment so they can provide us with a valuable insight in to the way the tutor works with children. The character referee can also help us determine whether a tutor is suitable to work with children due to their characteristics. All of our tutors are screened very closely by our Tutor Support team.
