Established for over 40 years, Fleet Tutors has worked with more than 10,000 tutors and is highly experienced in managing tutors’ careers. Our tutors enjoy the benefits of working with a leading education service provider whilst retaining the autonomy of being self-employed.
It is desirable that applicants have teaching and/or tutoring experience in the UK; a working knowledge of the current National Curriculum and/or relevant examination board syllabus is essential. Our minimum criteria are that tutors are educated to a minimum of 2:1 degree level or hold a recognised UK post-graduate teaching qualification such as QTS. If your degree was awarded by a non-UK university a NARIC conversion may be required. Tutors are only able to provide tuition in subjects in which they have a university degree or teaching qualification. If you wish to tutor students for school entrance examinations, current knowledge of the requirements of local selective or independent schools is essential. We require a minimum commitment of one year to ensure continuity of tuition for students.
Fleet Tutors operates a highly selective vetting and screening procedure when recruiting new tutors to ensure that our clients and students are provided with one-to-one and small group tuition of the highest quality. In line with client demand, current, retired or ex-teachers of core academic subjects from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 or tutors with considerable experience of one to one tuition are preferred. A proven track record in school entrance examination or scholarship coaching, or SEN experience and/or qualifications are also advantageous.
All tutors must be UK residents and have the right to live and work in the UK.
