Private GCSE Tutors

GCSE TUTORS

Whatever the subject and whether it’s an iGCSE or GCSE exam, there are three keys to success – great subject knowledge, strong exam techniques and good revision practices.

Our high-calibre, private GCSE tutors recognise this and make sure your child is fully prepared for the exams they face.

The result – a confident student in the exam hall and great exam grades in August.

Whether you want a quick confidence booster, help with a specific unit or topic, revision support just before exams or a more extended programme to secure a good grade in a subject, we can find the right GCSE tutor for you. Fleet Tutors is a well-established firm so over the years we have built up a strong network of reliable tutors across the country. These tutors can come to your home to help with your GCSE tuition, as well as many of them also using our Live Online service which provides extra flexibility and access to your tutor.

You can also be sure that they will be an excellent tutor. We have very high selection standards – only 20% of applicants make the Fleet Tutors’ grade. Making sure you are happy with the service you receive is also very important to us; that’s why we stay in touch and monitor every assignment through to completion.

GCSE PROGRAMME UPDATES

The reforms to the GCSE curriculum in England and Wales have now changed the way all subjects are taught and assessed. The switch from lettered to numerical grades [9-1], coupled with a ‘good pass’ at GCSEs becoming increasingly essential to securing a university place can pile a significant amount of pressure on students, especially in years 10 and 11.

So what does it mean for students?

As stress can play through to performance, it means that today’s students need to be very organised and secure in their knowledge, skills and understanding, which can be helped with some tutoring for GCSE. A solid revision programme will also imbue confidence and relieve anxiety, as they prepare to sit their GCSE exams.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fleet Tutors believe that private tuition can only be successful if our IGCSE tutors have the relevant qualifications and experience. All of our IGCSE tutors must hold as a minimum, a bachelors degree in the subject they tutor plus a teaching qualification recognised by the General Teaching Council in some cases.

All of Fleet Tutors’ IGCSE tutors are required to have relevant teaching or private tuition experience. Many of our IGCSE tutors are qualified teachers; others are experienced tutors with high class degrees. All must have up to date knowledge of the curriculum and the IGCSEs.

All of our private tutors hold Enhanced Disclosures (DBS) or Enhanced Disclosure Scotland’s which we check very closely. The DBS are an executive agency of the Home Office which vets applications for people who want to work with children and vulnerable people. We interview and obtain 2 references for every private tutor; one work reference and one character reference. Many of the work referees have worked with the tutor in a teaching environment so they can provide us with a valuable insight in to the way the tutor works with children. The character referee can also help us determine whether a tutor is suitable to work with children for private tuition due to their characteristics. All of our tutors are screened very closely by our Tutor Support team.
