Private Study Skills Tutors

Fleet Tutors can offer students help with revision using our experienced study skills tutors.  Our tutors are on hand for pastoral support, timetable advice and last minute revision technique.  We recommend online support in order to help with revision as soon as needed, and study skills tutoring at home is also available, if time allows.

Exam preparation: Revision and time table and general support

A level and GCSE students often need as much help with revision technique as the subjects themselves.  Our study skills tutors do not provide subject tuition; they are put in place to focus on revision support and offer timetable advice.  There is a lot of pressure on A level students to achieve high grades and it is often the case that they have the knowledge but their revision technique is not working successfully, which can be targeted and improved through study skills tutoring.

Our study skills tutors are used to being called upon for last minute help and for this they recommend an hour of general support rather than the revision and timetable support.  Telephone support is also available for any last minute assistance:

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO OUR STUDY SKILLS TUTORS HAVE?

All of our private tutors are required to hold a degree in the subject and/or a teaching qualification recognised by the General Teaching Council. So in the case of our study skills tutors, they are all required to hold a degree, as well as suitable experience in supporting students using study skills tutoring.

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOUR CHILDREN WILL BE SAFE WITH OUR PRIVATE TUTORS?

All of our private tutors, including study skills tutors, hold Enhanced Disclosures (DBS), or Enhanced Disclosure Scotland’s which we check very closely.  The DBS are an executive agency of the Home Office which vets applications for people who want to work with children and vulnerable people.
We interview and obtain 2 references for every study skills tutor; one work reference and one character reference.  Many of the work referees have worked with the tutor in a teaching environment so they can provide us with valuable insight into the way the tutor works with children.  The character referee can also help us determine whether someone is suitable for study skills tutoring with children due to their characteristics.

All of our tutors are screened very closely by our Tutor Support team.
